If grades aren’t syncing to your LMS course, it may be because the LTI integration wasn’t completed.

Step 1: Check LTI Integration

Contact your LMS Administrator and the Higher Education Integration Specialist

Step 2: Confirm that there are graded assessments in your course.

For grades to sync, assessments must be set to Graded.

Option 1: Activity Settings Page

  1. Go to Instructor Tools → Activity Settings.
  2. Either:
    • Check the “Graded” box next to individual items, then click “Save Changes,”
    • Select multiple items, click “Batch Edit,” click “Update Settings,” then select “Graded” and save.

Option 2: Individual Assessment Page

  1. Navigate to the page that contains the assessment.
  2. Switch to Authoring Mode.
  3. Move your cursor over the assessment and click “Edit.”
  4. Go to “Edit Component.”
  5. Set “Graded” to “Yes” (and set a due date if desired), then save.

Once done, scores will sync automatically.

Step 3: Manual Sync (Optional)

To push all scores and create gradebook items, go to “LTI Sync Manger” under Instructor Tools. Then, do one of the following:

  1. If you have not yet selected an LTI Sync method, click “LTI Setup” and select a method (they are explained on the page). This will trigger sync of all graded assessments.
  2. If you have already selected an LTI Sync method, you can perform a manual sync as follows:
    1. Click Cancel Selection (if needed).
    2. Click Select All on the assignments page.
    3. Click Next.
    4. Click Select All on the students page.
    5. Click Sync Now.
    6. Click Proceed.
    7. Wait for the sync to finish. Don’t leave the page or close the browser window/tab.

You will see an “LTI Setup Successful” message when the sync is complete.
After this, scores will sync automatically as students submit.
